The 2014 Winter Games took place in Sochi, Russia. The theme was based on the patchwork quilt! The Sochi designs resemble Thousand Pyramids and Diamond quilts, which are among our favorite one-block patterns.
Isosceles triangles (pyramids) create a beautiful, impressionistic look
when made with patterned fabrics in coordinating colors. The orange Olympics banner reminds us of Jan Krentz's "Indian Summer", shown below.
