Free Pattern Day: Attic Windows Quilts

The Attic Windows pattern is one of the most popular and best loved of all three dimensional quilt patterns! The pattern draws the eye into a "shadow box" effect. Attic Windows are an excellent way to showcase special blocks or large prints. They can be constructed with mitered corners or - the easy way - with half-square triangles at the corners. You can personalize this wall hanging with your name, or make one for a grandchild or quilting friend. The pattern gives instructions for a name quilt, but the idea could also be used to showcase messages, keys on a keyboard, or photos on fabric.
